Hockey For Heroes #OpEndure 28/05/18- Round Up
A huge thank you to all our visitors, friends, umpires, volunteers and players who took part in Monday's special Hockey For Heroes #OpEndure day at LGS.
We welcomed the squad for day three of their eight day challenge for their 10th/11th/12th/13th games of the event following a cassevac along the towpath in the morning.
The day started with a multi-sports session with hockey, kick boxing, rugby and a military style obstacle course on offer with MT13 and special guest Sam Ward. Sam also took on Leicester Men’s star Tom Moorhouse in a crossbar challenge competition narrowly winning 2-1! On the sand pitch spectators and players enjoyed an Under 14 and Under 16 Mixed Tournament between Beeston, Stourport, and a joint Leicester Ladies and Leicester Men’s side. Meanwhile on the water based pitch the Hockey For Heroes side took on four local teams in the scorching sunshine:
- H4H 1:2 Loughborough Students
- H4H 1:3 Stourport
- H4H 2:2 Beeston
- H4H 1:1 Leicester
A huge well done to everyone who took part and special thanks go to Jan Lloyd for her organisation and hard work on the day. We can't wait to hear the total for funds raised from this amazing challenge so thanks to all who bought a raffle ticket, took part in the auction or donated to this amazing cause.
