Weather Hinders As Firsts Draw With Gloucester City

Leicester City Hockey Club's Ladies first team packed up their hockey bags to travel down to Gloucester City Ladies in Investec Wonens Hockey League Division 1 North on Saturday 15 February. The previous fixture between the two teams was a tight match, with this game also proving similar.

Leicester did at times slice through the Gloucester team to create goalscoring opportunities but did not take them.

The weather was proving tricky to play flowing hockey in, and the breakthrough came from another Nikki Laybourne strike.

She pounced from close to goal following a scramble in the circle.

As time ticked away Gloucester found an equaliser in the last minutes to make the game all square and finish 1-1.

Next week Leicester are at home 2:30pm PB at Leicester Grammar School where we welcome Belper Hockey Club.
