Launched in September 2017, our Junior Academy is offers regular training sessions for players aged 8 to 14. Open to boys and girls and running from our home venue of St Margaret's Pastures Sports Centre in the heart of the city U8’s – U14’s are offered training every Sunday. U16-U18 Teams receive specific squad training by arrangement. Our First Team players take an active involvement in the new Junior Academy, assisting and running specific coaching sessions.
Our aim is to make Leicester Junior Academy the most exciting, successful and fun place for Junior and Age Group hockey in the area. Every boy and girl who wants to play hockey will be given the opportunity to do so at Leicester. With our wide variety of squads and training, there's something accessible to everyone, from total beginners to players with International Caps and National League players.
Highly skilled coaches from throughout the club will complement some of our brightest new coaching talent and ensure that all age groups and competition teams are able to tap into years of experience and hockey knowledge. Maggi's cafe at St Margaret's offers a variety of refreshments and we you can sit and relax in the pavilion while you wait!
Players under 13 who are not yet eligible for Saturday league matches, have a regular weekly programme of training and competition which is published and sent out once confirmed to the club.
Players over 13 and under 18 automatically have academy membership as part of their package.
