DISAPPOINTING DRAW FOR 4THS
The 4th team's mediocre run continued on Wednesday night with a 1-1 draw with lowly Lutterworth. Lutterworth, pointless before this match, bolstered their side with players with first team experience and although the young Leicester side dominated much of the game it could not turn pressure into goals.
The first twenty minutes was al Leicester with great work down the right from Abbie McArthur producing a number of chances in the D. Lutterworth keeper, Annie Kean, was in good form but Leicester rushed too many openings and could not take the many penalty corner chances that were won.
Totally against the run of play Lutterworth scored from their first attack. This led to a period of crisis for Leicester and Lutterworth then had a couple of chances that had stand-in keeper Sandy Yeates on her toes.
In the second half, Leicester steadied and again took the game to Lutterworth with Abi Williams making good ground. Eventually pressure told and from a goalmouth melee Tara Johnson got the final touch.
This Saturday, Leicester travels to Melton for a 10.30 game at King Edward 7th.
